Jones to Speak at UMB’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month Commemoration
Joseph T. Jones is the president and founder of the Center for Urban Families (CFUF), which helps fathers and families work.
This has been Jones’ mission most of his adult life with the Baltimore City Health Department’s Healthy Start program and CFUF.
A driven man who graduated from college at the age of 50, Jones has expanded CFUF’s offerings with the Baltimore Building Strong Families and the Couples Advancing Together programs. His work has gained national recognition.
He serves on President Obama’s Taskforce on Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families, and on several local boards.
His honors include the White House Champion of Change award and the Johns Hopkins Leadership Development Award. Most recently he was given the 2013 Walter Sondheim Public Service Award by Greater Baltimore Committee President Donald Fry, who said, “Joe Jones is a beacon of hope to young men and women in Baltimore.”
