POU cart

Point-of-Use (POU) Cleaning Carts popped up in buildings across the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) to clean common areas as COVID-19 infections spread. Since then, we have learned more about the spread of COVID-19, are able to receive vaccines and boosters, and requests for POU Cleaning Cart supplies have declined.

For these reasons, the POU Cleaning Cart program will come to an end March 1. Requests for custodial services can be made through the Facilities Work Request Portal. In alignment with our core values set of Well-Being and Sustainability, these carts will be collected and donated to Baltimore City schools.

Questions about the POU Cleaning Carts and requests for excess hand sanitizer can be directed to Environmental Services (EVS) leadership at EVSLeadership@umaryland.edu. The hand sanitizer gallon jugs will be disseminated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We want to thank UMB Facilities and Operations, Environmental Services, Emergency Management, Communications and Public Affairs, and the many other partners who helped launch and sustain this program for the health and safety of our UMB community.
