Yang Wang, PhD, assistant staff scientist in UMSON's Department of Pain and Translational Symptom Science, published an article, "Psychological Determinants of Placebo Responders in Pain," in the Aug. 22, 2022, edition of Physician's Weekly, which offers medical news and information for health care professionals at the point of care. The article explores a study that examined psychological factors that predict the magnitude of placebo hypoalgesia and individual responsiveness and found significant placebo effects in patients with temporomandibular disorder and healthy participants.
