The Elm is a dynamic, community-driven website where faculty, staff, students, and affiliates of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) can publish, engage with, and access a variety of online content. All are welcome to participate!
Why is the site called The Elm?
The Davidge elm is the University’s historical symbol. An English elm, it stood at the corner of Lombard and Greene streets — where its sapling now stands — honoring the history of the University as the University System of Maryland’s founding campus.
