Amy Kruger Howard

Pediatric clinical pharmacist selected as UMB IPE Scholar for 2023-2025

Amy Kruger Howard, MS, PharmD pediatric clinical pharmacist, is one of two University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) faculty members selected to serve as a UMB Interprofessional Education (IPE) Faculty Scholar for the next two years, 2023 - 25. The program is offered through UMB's Center for Interprofessional Education, and the other faculty member selected, Melissa McClean, is in the School of Nursing.

The scholars' program is intended to support faculty and staff from UMB professional schools in expanding their knowledge and expertise related to providing IPE to advance UMB’s mission. The program requires a 10% commitment over two years, including involvement in the Foundations of Interprofessional Education and Practice course for two years, development of an IPE initiative in the first year, and implementation of that initiative in the second year.

This IPE initiative should advance UMB’s offerings in the areas of IPE immersion or IPE competency. Scholars are eligible to apply to attend an Interprofessional Education Collaborative Institute and to apply for a Seed Grant and/or IPE Faculty Award.
