DNP Psychiatric Mental Health NP student selected for SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program.


Ashley Davis, MSN, APRN, CARN-AP, AAHIVS, FNP-c, a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty, has been selected for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) at the American Nurses Association.

The SAMHSA MFP aims to support the training of ethnic and racial minority psychiatric nurses who are pursuing master's and doctoral degrees to address SAMHSA’s purpose and goals of eliminating behavioral health disparities among racial/ethnic minority populations. This 3 - 5-year fellowship provides an annual stipend, mentoring, academic support, additional educational offerings in mental health and substance use disorders among ethnic and racial and indigenous populations, dissertation support, coaching in research design and data analysis, and one-on-one counseling regarding quality improvement projects and clinical practice.
