Dr. Christabel Cheung and UMB interdisciplinary colleagues published by the European Society of Medicine


Funded by the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Community-Informed Research Award, Assistant Professor Christabel Cheung led a pilot study to develop a novel financial navigation pathway to reduce the financial toxicity of cancer at the UM Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center with a team of interdisciplinary colleagues from across the University of Maryland Baltimore including Dr. Shana O. Ntiri, Dr. Laundette P. Jones, Alan S. Hirsch, UMSSW doctoral student Haelim Lee, UM MSW student Jordan Bridges, and UMSOM medical student Maria Gianelle. Investigators published open-access results in Medical Research Archives, the official journal of the European Society of Medicine titled, “Anticipatory Guidance: Developing a Patient Navigation Pathway to Reduce the Financial Toxicity of Cancer.”
