Darlene Trandel, PhD, RN, FNP, CCP, ICF-PCC, assistant professor, authored a chapter, "Person Centered Strategies for Promoting Healthy Lifestyles," in the book Health Promotion and Disease Prevention for Advanced Practice: Integrating Evidence-Based Lifestyle Concepts (Jones & Bartlett). The book provides practical, evidence-based approaches to reduce preventable lifestyle-related chronic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, some strokes, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and multiple types of cancer. It provides lifestyle management tools needed to contribute to a higher level of care to promote health and prevent disease.
