Dr. Graham Aberdeen

He has been appointed chair of the UMB Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, succeeding Dr. John Sacci. 


Dr. Graham Aberdeen has been appointed chair of the UMB Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Dr. Aberdeen succeeds Dr. John Sacci.    

Dr. Aberdeen joined the UMB Community in 1998 as a Post-Doctorate Research Fellow, after which he joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Services. During his time at UMB, he has actively served UMB on numerous committees and councils, including the University of Maryland School of Medicine Council and the ACUP Transition Committee.

Dr. Aberdeen has served on the IACUC since 2002.  He assumed a supportive role for the Chair of the IACUC and was officially appointed as the inaugural Vice Chair in July, 2022. Dr. Aberdeen is an experienced researcher.  He has been co-investigator on multiple NIH funded projects.
