Assistant Professor Dr. Laurie Graham and colleagues have a new paper published in Violence Against Women. This paper explores researcher-practitioner partnerships to implement and evaluate sexual and relationship violence (SRV) prevention programs for men and boys. Analyses of key informant interview data collected with 20 leaders at youth-serving educational institutions and community-based organizations highlighted the importance of attending to the unique needs of host organizations, as well as those of program participants and their parents/caregivers in SRV prevention program implementation and evaluation efforts. Findings underscored that such partnerships require significant commitments of host organization employee effort and time for program management and delivery, and funding should cover such costs. Increasing use of participatory research approaches may enhance SRV prevention research that both rigorously evaluates male-focused SRV prevention programs and gathers the critical input of diverse young men and boys concerning optimal formats for male-focused SRV prevention programs.
