Assistant professor serves second term as chair of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Continuing Education Committee.


Richard P. Conley Jr., DNP '20, CRNA, CNE, assistant professor and assistant director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse Anesthesia specialty, was selected by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) Board of Directors to serve a second term as the chair of the Continuing Education Committee.

The Continuing Education Committee is a standing committee that collaborates with any AANA-recognized certification entity to review and direct providers toward education opportunities meeting the certification requirements for CRNAs. The responsibilities of the committee include:

  • the formulation and/or revision of the AANA continuing education standards and criteria for eligibility for certification renewal through any certification entity recognized by the AANA
  • the evaluation of current trends, best practices, research, innovation and new technologies in continuing education and certification
  • collaboration with other AANA committees as needed, including keeping members up to date on continuing education activities and recommendations.
