Drs. Reyes, Dababnah, Shaia and Badawi Publish New Article in Pediatrics


School of Medicine and School of Social Work faculty members Drs. Charina Reyes, Sarah Dababnah, Wendy Shaia, and Deborah Badawi, along with two community partners, Devan Southerland and Azeb Adere, published a new article in Pediatrics entitled, "Collaborative Program to Support Parents of Black Children Awaiting a Developmental Evaluation." The article details the efforts between community members, developmental-behavioral pediatricians, and social workers to adapt, pilot, and evaluate a culturally relevant program for parents of Black children at increased likelihood for autism. The University of Maryland, Baltimore, Institute for Clinical & Translational Research provided support for the research.
