Volunteer and in-kind giving manager for Paul's Place Inc. recognized at IPACE Symposium 2024 for Outstanding Achievement in Academic Community Engagement.

Chevonne Francois, volunteer and in-kind giving manager of Paul’s Place Inc., was recognized with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Academic Community Engagement by a Community Member by the Interprofessional Program on Academic Community Engagement (IPACE). IPACE is housed in UMSON's Department of Family and Community Health.

On March 28, IPACE held its second annual symposium, "Best Practices in Community Engagement: A Symposium on Community-Based Scholarship, Practice, Education, and Service." The symposium also highlighted various organizations and individuals and their efforts in community engagement.

As the in-kind giving manager of Paul’s Place, Francois has been described as an enthusiastic, passionate, and committed leader and organizer for the wider Baltimore community. She regularly organizes drives for food, clothes and other items that are requested by the community members and daily visitors of Paul’s Place. She is phenomenal at strengthening existing partnerships through establishing authentic collaborations and developing new connections across the West Baltimore community. If you have volunteered at Paul’s Place, you have seen the kindness in her interactions with guests and the enthusiasm with which she welcomes volunteers who feel engaged and prepared to serve, learn, and become part of the Paul’s Place community.
