Corey Shdaimah, Daniel Thursz Distinguished Professor of Social Justice, was published in Sozialmagazin. Her chapter in this review of perspectives on global social work explored international social work through the lens of four core social work values anchored in local codes of ethics and in the International Federation of Social Workers Global Statement: social justice, human rights, collective responsiblity, and respect for diversities. Following a review of these core values as they are defined globally, Shdaimah examined how approaches of reciprocity, redistribution, and reflexivity can help identify and address challenges to these values that arise within international social work practice, drawing on examples.
