Corey Shdaimah and Nancy Franke published with the Qualitative Data Repository

Main content

Daniel Thursz Distinguished Professor of Social Justice Corey Shdaimah and recent doctoral graduate Dr. Nancy Franke of LaSalle University published their qualitative data set "Looking Back, Looking Forward" with the Qualitative Data Repository. The data set is comprised of interviews with 26 stakeholders of court-affiliated prostitution diverstion program, including program participants and criminal legal system professionals. Respondents were drawn from different phases of the programs' history and reflected on thier evolving understanding of the programs, especially in light of changes to policing and attitudes toward street-based sex work. The data set served as the basis for, or part of, three peer reviewed articles and a book (with co-authors Dr. Todd Becker of Washington University in St. Louis, also a doctoral program graduate, Professor Santhi Leon of University of Delaware, and Associate Dean and BSW Program Chair Shelly Wiechelt of UMBC). The data are now freely available to researchers through this international data base.
