The University of Maryland Brain Tumor Program led a new paper on immune checkpoint inhibitors for patients with glioblastoma that has been published in the Journal of Neuro-Oncology

The paper describes emerging insights and future directions, building upon historic failures of trials of immune checkpoint blockade for this highly aggressive disease.

From the Brain Tumor Program, Ahmad Ozair, MD, MPH, postdoctoral research fellow in neurosurgery served as co-first author; Graeme Woodworth, MD, FACS, chair of neurosurgery and the director of the Brain Tumor Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, served as co-author; and Tina Wang, MA, biomedical illustrator, provided medical illustration support.
