Assistant professor receives research grant award from Foundation for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.


Sarah Holmes, PhD, MSW, assistant professor, received a $25,000 research grant award from the Foundation for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.

Her project, "Optimizing Meaningful Activity and Reducing Sedentary Behavior Among Residents with Dementia in Assisted Living," will test a theory-based approach to optimize engagement in meaningful activity for decreasing sedentary behavior among assisted living residents with dementia. The findings from this project will inform evidence-based guidance on care approaches.
