Dr. Christabel Cheung Named Salzburg Global Fellow in Health Equity Innovation.

Dr. Christabel Cheung, Associate Professor, was selected as a Salzburg Global Fellow and joined 50 international leaders in health equity for the week-long Salzburg Global Health and Health Care Innovation Session: “Transforming Information Pathways for Health, Well-Being, and Equity,” in Salzburg, Austria. Her participation was generously supported by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The Salzburg Global session convened multidisciplinary experts from around the world to address pressing challenges in health equity and systems transformation. Emerging from this convening, Dr. Cheung is a founding member of a new global working group focused on disrupting the ‘doom loop’ affecting many health data systems — a self-reinforcing cycle in which escalating costs coincide with worsening outcomes. The group will collaboratively advance research and practice strategies to reorient data systems toward equity, accountability, and sustainable health improvement.
