Please join in celebrating UMSSW's Dr. Theda Rose, whose research on equity and youth mental health earned an Honorable Mention for SSWR's 2026 Excellence in Research Award. Dr. Rose received an Honorable Mention for the Excellence in Research Award for “Mediators that matter: Psychological distress, developmental assets, and educational outcomes among Black youth,” co-authored with Sean Joe and Gregory R. Hancock in the Journal of Educational Psychology, highlighting strengths-based assets that support Black adolescents’ well-being and academic success.
