Faculty receive 2021 - 22 Dean's Teaching Scholars Awards.


Priscilla Aguirre, DNP, CRNA, CRNP-AC (left), assistant professor; Veronica Amos, PhD, CRNA, PHCNS-BC (middle), assistant professor and assistant specialty director of Nurse Anesthesia; and Jacqueline Mitchell, MS '07, CRNA (right), director of clinical education, have been named the recipients of UMSON's 2021 - 22 Dean's Teaching Scholars Awards for their "Impact of High Fidelity Simulation on Nurse Anesthesia Students’ Knowledge, Self-Confidence, and Psychomotor Skills."

This award provides support for faculty to facilitate or develop research/projects that enhance nursing education and/or extend the evidence base for teaching and learning. Proposals may be either research to support evidence-based practices in teaching or courses/programs that will enhance the teaching/learning process. Based on their proposed budget, recipients are provided with up to $5,000 in support of their project and are named as Dean's Teaching Scholars for the period of the funding.
