Assistant Professor Dr. Alexandra Wimberly has published an article entitled "How Yoga Impacts the Substance Use of People Living with HIV who are in Reentry from Prison or Jail: A Qualitative Study" in the journal Complementary Therapies in Medicine. In the study 28 returning citizens took part in 12 weekly Hatha Yoga sessions. Participants reported that yoga helped them to avoid substance use, deal with stress, and build confidence in their recovery.
