Department of Pathology professor receives award from Maryland Advanced Ventures Initiative.
Antonino Passaniti, PhD, professor, Department of Pathology, received a Maryland Innovative Initiative Award, managed by the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The award is totaled at $115,000.
The award provides support for medicinal chemistry approaches and pre-commercial development of new analogs modeled on patented lead drug for breast cancer prevention and treatment. The goal is to demonstrate the utility of the technology for clinical trial application using biochemical and biological assays.
