Antonino Passaniti, PhD, professor, Department of Pathology, received a VA Merit Award for his proposal titled "Mitochondrial Metabolism as a Target of Breast Cancer Therapy." The award is totaled at $1,198,154.

The goals of this proposal are to determine the significance and requirement for mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in metabolic regulation of breast cancer and to develop novel mitochondrial-targeted approaches that alter mitochondrial function for cancer therapeutics.
