Feng Jiang, MD, PhD, professor, Department of Pathology, received a three-year, $369,642 grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for “A Diagnostic Model for Malignant Pulmonary Nodules.”

Jiang proposes to develop an easy and cost-effective test for accurately distinguishing malignant from benign lung nodules. Future use of the test will complement CT screening for the early detection of lung cancer and ultimately reduce lung cancer-associated deaths.
