Jana Goodwin, PhD, RN, CNE, (left) assistant professor and director of the BSN program, and Wendy Zhang, RN, DNP student, will present during the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians webinar, Pearls of Practice 9: Hot Topics for Clinicians: Diversity, Cultural Competence & Implicit Bias, on April 10.
Goodwin will present "Bias, Culture and The Social Determinants of Health: The Healthcare Challenge" on the impact of bias on patient outcomes, approaches to cultural humility, and strategies for improving cross cultural communication and understanding. Zhang will present "Social determinants of health screening in the primary care setting."
