Bratt receives American Red Cross Exemplary Service "Superman" Award

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Executive Director Jonathan Bratt, MS, CEM, NRP, received the American Red Cross Exemplary Service "Superman" Award on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021.

Bratt serves as a board member of the American Red Cross of Central Maryland. "I truly feel like I hit the board member jackpot. He is fabulous," says Misty Bruce, executive director of the American Red Cross of Central Maryland.

Since May, Bratt has volunteered more than 70 hours of his time to the American Red Cross. He has assisted with developing Disaster Summit content, provided resources for the Baltimore City Afghan resettlement project, responded after flooding in local communities, and helped develop a blood drive partnership at UMB and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

"His peers on the board are continuously impressed by his dedication and commitment to excellence," says Bruce. "Jon brings a refined level of understanding around Emergency Management that has been crucial for the Red Cross."
