Research Associate Professor Margo Candelaria, Lead Research Project Coordinator Laura Latta, Lead Research Analyst Jenny Afkinich, Program Director Kate Sweeney, and colleagues from the Indigo Cultural Center have a new paper published in the Journal of Ethnic & Cultural Diversity in Social Work.
The paper discusses recent efforts in the Maryland IECMHC program to deeply and systematically address equity and increase consultant capacity to understand and address racial inequity within early childhood settings. Infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC) is a national model with proven positive outcomes for children, teachers and classrooms, as well as effectively addressing racial inequity in preschool suspension and expulsion rates.
