PhD student is awarded 2019 American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Carrington-Hsia-Nieves Doctoral Scholarship for Midwives of Color.
PhD student Rhea Williams, MSN, CNM, was awarded the 2019 American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Carrington-Hsia-Nieves Doctoral Scholarship for Midwives of Color. The scholarship is awarded to a CNM/CM of color who is actively enrolled in doctoral or postdoctoral education.
The award is named in honor of three distinguished midwives of color:
- Betty Watts Carrington, CNM, PhD, FACNM
- Lily Hsia, CNM, PNP, MSN, FACNM
- Nivia Nieves Fisch, CNM, FACNM
The award was presented to Williams at the ACNM’s 64th Annual Meeting & Exhibition on May 21 in Washington, D.C.
