Student organization receives National Student Nurses' Association award.
University of Maryland Association of Nursing Students (UMANS) has been named the recipient of the Stellar School Chapter recognition award by the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA). Since 2009, the NSNA Stellar School Chapter recognition program recognizes NSNA school chapters that demonstrate ongoing involvement in NSNA, including a strong commitment to shared governance and professional development of their students and faculty. UMSON's chapter of UMANS is led by faculty advisor, Karmen Hice, MS, RN, (center, in black and white stripes) clinical instructor, the Universities at Shady Grove.
