Remember that the week of August 1 – 5, has been declared a "meeting-free" week for the School of Nursing’s faculty and staff. This means that meetings specific to UMSON should not be scheduled during this period. This proposal was approved by Governance Council to make it easier to schedule vacation or other leave time or to allow you to simply work quietly without the interruption of scheduled UMSON meetings.  Since this provision relates only to the scheduling of UMSON meetings, you may still find it necessary to participate in meetings external to the School of Nursing.

As always, if you do choose to take time off, you must check with your supervisor (as needed or required) and record the time as either annual, personal, or floating holiday leave on your timesheet.

Council members hope that this will make it easier for faculty and staff to schedule a much needed break or to have some uninterrupted work time. Enjoy the meeting-free week!
