A flag with the colors of the rainbow represents LGBTQ+ pride. Next to it is the blue and pink flag of the Trans+ community.

The Safe Space program at UMB trains faculty, students, and staff in LGBTQ+ allyship, advocacy, and education. This training is offered each semester by the Intercultural Center and challenges participants to reflect on the identities and lived experiences of marginalized gender and sexual identities while challenging norms related to the gender binary and heteronormativity. This workshop is split into two 1.5-hour virtual trainings on Zoom. Participants must participate in both trainings to be Safe Space certified.
