Sept. 30 Deadline for Nursing Educator Doctoral Grants
September 01, 2022Nominations are open for the Nursing Educator Doctoral Grants for Practice and Dissertation Research (NEDG) overseen by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
Current full-time UMSON nurse faculty enrolled in PhD, DNP, or EdD programs who are engaged in their dissertation or capstone project during the 2022-2023 academic year and will graduate within the next years are eligible. Doctoral studies may be part-time or full-time at a Maryland or out-of-state institution. Faculty who completed a doctoral degree as of May 1, 2021 and later, may also be eligible. Prior NEDG recipients with continued outstanding student debt may qualify for additional funding based on specific documentation requirements. Payment of student loan debt and tuition are priority uses of funds. There is a service requirement to teach full-time in a Maryland nursing program for each year of the award. Note that those who received other NSP II faculty awards with service requirements must have completed these requirements in order to apply for the NEDG.
All nominations must be made by Dean Kirschling. Qualifying faculty or those with questions should contact Deborah Prout at prout@umaryland.edu promptly to ensure sufficient time to prepare the necessary application materials and documentation. All submittals will be made by Sept. 30, 2022.
