Taking Precautions Amid Increased COVID-19 Cases

COVID-19 infections and exposure reports have risen at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) over the last month. UMB expected some increase when it loosened protective measures, but the BA.2 variant is contributing to a more rapid spread.
On April 13, 2022, UMB Public Health Officer Marianne Cloeren, MD, MPH, an associate professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, sent a letter to the UMB community that included face mask suggestions, precautions, and other information for students, faculty, and staff to keep themselves healthy and safe.
