Lactation is the process of making human milk. Human milk is secreted through your mammary glands, which are in your breasts. Lactation is hormonally driven and occurs naturally in people who are pregnant.
Lactation education makes mothers aware regarding the need to abandon the unconventional methods in feeding the child and persuades them to breastfeed.
Lactation education and support are given here at UMB. We are equipped with several lactation rooms across campus. We can offer support and information to anyone who is in need.
