The Elm

The Staff Council Community Engagement Committee is collecting new and gently used books for four local schools, ranging from elementary to high school, in coordination with the Office of Community Engagement (OCE), the Health Sciences and Human Services Library, School of Pharmacy, Student Center, and Law Library. The books will be distributed to the following four schools: Harlem Park Elementary Middle, Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy, James McHenry Elementary Middle, and Steuart Hill Academic Academy.

Books of all genres and topics are welcome, especially new picture books, board books, graphic novels, fiction; topics on STEM, physical and mental health and wellbeing, belonging and identity, as well as other topics that appeal to diverse populations.

Bins will be placed by the elevators in UMSON building for two weeks. Please feel free to share this information about the book drive with others.
