The UM Scholars program is a paid summer internship program that connects students from the University of Maryland College Park with faculty from the University of Maryland, Baltimore to collaborate on research projects. Faculty members mentor students during the 10-week summer program (May 31 – August 5, 2022) with the hopes of expanding their knowledge about specific topics in nursing research and exposing them to various research careers available to doctoral-prepared nurses.

UMSON would like to welcome this year’s UM Scholars:

  • Madeleine Oum-Ray, who will be working alongside Kelly Doran, PhD, RN, on her worksite heart health improvement project and function focused care.
  • Manmeet Sandhu and Nhi Tran, who will both work alongside Luana Colloca, MD, PhD, MS, on her pain project.
  • Chelsea Amadi-Emina, who will be working alongside Joan Carpenter, PhD, CRNP, ACHPN, FPCN, on her palliative care project.
