Investigators at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and School of Nursing are seeking volunteers to serve on an advisory board for a research study. The volunteers should be employees of the University of Maryland, Baltimore or another institution, but not health care providers.

The purpose of this project is to evaluate a brief online training course on using motivational interviewing (MI), geared toward occupational health providers to address vaccine hesitancy among employees. We are recruiting an advisory board of stakeholders to lend insight on the questionnaires/evaluation tools for the study and course content.

We are seeking employees with diverse experiences and views regarding vaccination, including people who have had concerns about COVID-19 vaccination requirements. We can offer modest compensation for your time, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to a research study on an important topic.

The commitment is about 10 hours over about one year (August 2022 through May 2023). Responsibilities:

  • Review materials between meetings
  • Provide your perspective, as an employee, on course materials
  • Participate in virtual meetings

For more information or if you’d like to participate, please email the following by Monday, Aug. 22: name, current role/position, and a short blurb (few sentences) on why you are interested in participating. Thank you!
