Attention Please

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) annually requires students to complete online trainings for Title IX and Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention.

Students will receive separate email messages during the week of Aug. 14 containing the log-in information for each training.

All students must complete their designated training by Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023. Failure to complete these trainings, which are either a federal or state requirement, will result in a hold being placed on your student account until the training has been completed.

Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Training

The Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Education training is provided through Vector Solutions, and addresses a variety of topics, including the science of addiction, recognizing the signs of abuse, properly using and disposing of prescription drugs, strategies to assist others, and treatment resources.

All first-time, full-time students are required to complete the online Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention module. All other students will receive the module as an optional resource.

Title IX Training

Title IX Training is provided through the Student Success by Vector Solutions Primary Prevention Program, which is an interactive online program designed to increase awareness and provide education on preventing sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, and stalking. Students who previously completed the full course at UMB will receive short refresher modules from the full course.

This training, by its nature, addresses issues of sexual harassment, misconduct, and violence. UMB understands that the training may trigger an emotional response, especially if you have experienced or been impacted by these issues or behaviors.

If you have concerns, questions, or would like additional information regarding the training, including alternate training offerings for impacted individuals, please contact Marc Ware, deputy Title IX coordinator, at 410-706-1852 or mware@umaryland.edu
