The Elm

UMNursing Grants are internal grants that are available to teams of UMSON faculty and University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) nurses to research nurse outcomes in the hospital or community. Awards are accepted on a rolling basis. The award can amount up to $15,000 for one year.

General Requirements:

• Joint research proposals should examine nurse outcomes in the hospital or community from a team comprised of at least one UMSON faculty member and one UMMS nurse. Nurse outcomes are defined as the patient outcomes sensitive to nursing intervention.
• Letter of Intent is required.

UMSON

• The UMSON PI must have a regular faculty appointment (> 51%) at UMSON.
• The UMSON PI must complete the pre-award form.

UMMC

• The UMMS PI must be employed as a nurse at an UMMS member organization at least 24 hours/week.
• The UMMS PI must complete the pre-award form.
