The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is updating the city's 10-Year Solid Waste Management Plan and is inviting residents and community stakeholders to provide feedback as the plan is developed. DPW is encouraging residents, people who work in Baltimore, environmental advocates, business and education leaders, and all other stakeholders to be involved in the development of the plan by attending public meetings or submitting comments for discussion. There will be a number of public meetings between Feb. 22 and April 24, 2023. Learn more about the plan, submit comments, and register for meetings here.

The plan will identify goals for managing Baltimore's solid waste stream, assessing the existing solid waste collection systems, current and future disposal capacity needs, and the ways in which reuse, recycling, and composting from residential, institutional, and commercial sources are to be implemented. Please contact Sophia Hoisain, Baltimore City's zero waste manager, with any questions.
