June 16: Brewing Biology: COVID-19 and Vaccine Development, a Public Health Forum
June 02, 2023Brewing Biology is a community-based event that encourages discussion about relevant scientific research and overall health. The June 16 event will take place at 5 p.m. and focus on the topics of COVID-19, the immune system, and vaccine development. The allotted three hours will include a TED Talk-style presentation by our keynote speaker, Matthew Frieman, PhD, a question-and-answer session with panelists who work in health-related fields, and other interactive activities.
Keynote speaker: Dr. Matthew Frieman, PhD, a viral pathogen and microbology researcher at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM)
Panelists: Frieman; Baltimore City Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, MPH, MSL '19; the Baltimore City Health Department; and Gregory Taylor, MD, of UMSOM's Institute of Human Virology, will answer your questions about immunology, public healthy policy, and more.
The event is free and will take place at Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse.
