CURE Scholars White Coat Ceremony

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) CURE Scholars White Coat Ceremony is a signature event modeled after the medical student ceremony of the same name. The event celebrates the entry of West Baltimore middle school scholars into the program and highlights the programmatic accomplishments of each CURE cohort. The White Coat Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. April 15 at MSTF Building, Leadership Hall and Atrium.

Started in 2015, the groundbreaking UMB CURE program provides after school, Saturday and summer STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) enrichment curriculum and holistic support to excite students about STEM subjects and expose them to career paths in these fields. Faculty and students across UMB and the University System of Maryland provide robust scholar mentoring as a key component of the program.

The first cohort of UMB CURE scholars graduated from high school in 2022 marking a major milestone in the program, which will continue to support their success through college and beyond.
