Anna Yankova

The DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) Council will host guest speaker Anna Yankova, project manager at the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, at its next meeting Monday, Feb. 13 at noon.

Anyone who is interested and passionate about DEI work at the University of Maryland School of Nursing is encouraged to attend.

There will be an open forum and information about opportunities to volunteer and learn about DEI work at UMSON.

Yankova has a bachelor's degree in languages and translation from Odessa State University, Ukraine and a master's degree from the American University School of International Service. She has more than 15 years of professional experience working for the Mayor's Office of Baltimore, the Office of the Secretary of State, and the private sector. As the immigrant program coordinator at the Mayor's Office, Yankova managed various city-wide programs assisting immigrant and refugee populations with vocational training, employment, and getting access to government services. As the director of international affairs at the office of the Secretary of State, she managed the statewide Sister States Program that promoted public diplomacy and global business collaboration. In this capacity, she also served as the diplomatic protocol officer for the state. Additionally, she has private sector experience, managing business development and doing project management.

Yankova holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate from Project Management Institute (PMI). She speaks Russian, Ukrainian, and French. In her free time, she enjoys watching documentaries, reading international relations and foreign policy magazines, working out, kickboxing, and traveling.
