The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Community Engagement, the University of Maryland Medical Center, Foundry Church, and the UMB Staff Senate are seeking donations of toys or cash for The Christmas Store, to be held Dec. 15-16 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Please join us in our effort to make this holiday season a special one for the families of West Baltimore! The purpose of the Christmas Store is to provide families a unique opportunity to purchase gifts at significantly reduced cost so that every parent can experience the joy of giving.
The event will be held at UMB's Community Engagement Center, 16 S. Poppleton St., Baltimore 21201. Proceeds will support nonprofit organizations serving Southwest Baltimore.
Here’s how you can help:
- Help us reach our 2,000 toy goal!
- Make a donation to the Staff Senate Community Outreach Fund
- Purchase an item from our Amazon Registry or Target Registry
- Make a donation directly to the Foundry Church.
- Gift your time. We need volunteers to make the Christmas Store a success. Shifts available:
- Thursday, Dec. 14, 5 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (setup)
- Friday, Dec. 15, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
