Six musicians

Westminster Hall is proud to welcome back our free lunchtime recital series Lunch Under the Pipes. Join us the first Thursday of each month: April 6 and May 4 for live musical performances beginning at noon. Be sure to bring your lunch, friends, and colleagues.

We are delighted to showcase our guest ensemble Balance Campaign consisting of flute, clarinet, violin, cello, viola, and piano, bringing an interactive program of enchanting pieces by living, underrepresented composers. For the following spring concerts, audience members will have an opportunity to meet the members of Balance Campaign at Spotlight Concerts featuring subsets of its ensemble.

About Balance Campaign

Balance Campaign is a Washington, D.C.-based contemporary classical sextet that advocates for equal representation in new music. The group commissions marginalized composers residing in Washington, Baltimore, and Virginia.

The ensemble believes in using relevant programming as a force for change. It recently recorded and released its first commission, “ANIMAL” by Nathan Lincoln de Cusatis, which addresses issues on climate change and humanity’s innate tendency toward self-destruction.

These performances are supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council. Visit https://www.msac.org/ for more details.
