Our next Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) Enrichment Seminar will be at noon Tuesday, Sept. 12, presented by Paul Shapiro, PhD, professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

Shapiro will cover the discovery of novel kinase inhibitors that mitigate pathological airway remodeling associated with asthma. He will discuss how ICTR resources helped generate preliminary data and NIH funding through the R61/R33 Catalyze program at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. The talk will also cover the goals of the Catalyze program and its role in promoting the development of new therapies and entrepreneurial activities. At the conclusion of Shapiro's presentation, the ICTR will also highlight ICTR pilot grant and micro-grant opportunities as well as ICTR cores of services available to researchers.
