Date/Time/Location: Thursday, Nov. 16, 5 - 7 p.m. at the Universities at Shady Grove

Purpose:

  • The Black Student Nurses Association believes in fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within the School of Nursing and the health care industry.
    • As part of our commitment to this mission, we are hosting an event dedicated to providing guidance, inspiration, and support to minority nursing students.
  • Nursing students from underrepresented backgrounds may face academic and social barriers that have potential impact on student success (Green, 2020)*.
    • Offering mentoring programs that connect students with resources for success is a necessary strategy to build a more diverse nursing workforce and to advance health equity.

Event:

There will be a structured dialogue panel, followed by an organized networking event, with the goal of fostering conversations among nursing students and mentors on a range of nursing-related topics. In the final hour of the event, there will be a social hour during which light refreshments will be provided.

We invite you to be a part of this mission by registering through the link below for our Nov. 16 event.
