October is Disability Awareness Month

This October, the Intercultural Center is partnering with the Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS) office for a series of events in honor of Disability Justice and Awareness Month. Disability justice is a social movement and framework that examines ableism as a structure of oppression and the ways ableism intersects with other forms of oppression. We hope this month serves to raise awareness of the diverse needs, experiences, and contributions of people with disabilities and to encourage students, staff, and faculty at UMB to incorporate disability justice into their everyday practice.
