With the news of Tyre Nichols’ death at hands of police in Memphis, Tennessee, we recognize the impact this may have on our community. The video footage is extremely difficult to watch. Whether or not you choose to view this footage is your decision, and either way we want you to know that the School of Nursing is here to support you.

With the emotions that you may experience in mind, we are holding space for you to process, grieve, or just be in community with others. On Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 1 - 2 p.m. there will be a gathering at the Universities at Shady Grove in IV-4308. Everyone is welcome – students, staff, faculty - and we will have facilitators for support.

It is important that we acknowledge these horrific acts of injustice and come together as a community during these difficult times. It is also important to us that you feel safe enough to show up as you are and know that the School of Nursing community is here with you – in solidarity.
