This announcement from the Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) aims to bring awareness to UMSON faculty conducting research of an initiative to support researchers with their UMSON policy and UMB investigators manual compliance efforts.

The University of Maryland School of Nursing's Human Subjects Required Education and Oversight Policy requires that "GCP (Good Clinical Practice] Certificates of completion must be emailed to NRSResearch@umaryland.edu. GCP training should be completed initially and then every three years."

The UMB Human Research Protections Office (HRPO) Investigators Manual states that "A [study] Closure Report must be submitted within 45 days of study closure. If you fail to submit a Closure Report to close out human research, you will be restricted from submitting new human research until the completed application has been received. If the Closure Report for closing out a human research study is not received by the date requested in the approval letter, you will be restricted from submitting new human research until the completed application is received."

Please be on the lookout for an email requesting a study status update and provision of current GCP training. We ask that you prioritize this request in order to ensure that the UMSON is exemplary in their compliance of these research requirements.
